Welcome to QWERTYFEST

In 1868, Milwaukee's Christopher Latham Sholes patented one of the first commercially made (and viable) typewriters, creating a new form of communication that revolutionized the world.

Naturally, QWERTYFEST takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin – the birthplace of the typewriter and QWERTY keyboard configuration. Whether typing up business documents, writing about the latest news, and even sharing that love letter, Sholes' invention (and his "QWERTY" key layout) changed the world forever.

QWERTYFEST celebrates that legacy, and how this invention manifests today.
